Withdrawal of a Turkmani political entity
from the next Iraqi elections

The "Turkmani Change and
Reformation Movement" has withdrawn from the coming
Iraqi elections. This was included in a statement
issued by the movement.
It said, "After the movement of change and
reformation, which we have executed in Turkmani
institutions and departments in the city of Erbil
and re-formatting it in a new and national manner
that differs from the former regime, we found out
that we, as an active effective Turkmani political
organization, should participate in the political
process in Iraq. Nevertheless, we found out that it
is better for us to withdraw from the coming
parliamentary elections, for the lack of time.
The statement added that despite its decision of not
participating in the coming elections and
withdrawing from it, the movement would support the
Kurdistani Alliance Slate, which is participating in
the coming elections.
The decision of the movement came after the
Independent High Electoral Commission has approved
the request of the movement to participate in the
coming elections with a slate no.831. Nevertheless,
the lack of time and preparations for entering the
elections has prevented the movement from
participation, according to the statement.
