Turkish army announces artillery barrage in Dersim
NEWSDESK, Oct 18
(DozaMe.org) - Turkish military authorities
announced a week of artillery barrages in the Ovacik
district in the Dersim (Tunceli) province in
northern Kurdistan (southeastern Turkey).
The artillery barrages are planned to be conducted
between October 17-25 in the areas of Gökkusagi,
Kiziltepe, Pamuklu, Dari Tarlalari, Kirmizi Tepe,
Dürüt, Korutas, Halit Pinar, Kizilveren, Emirhan,
Dere, Ziyaret, Büyük Tepe and Gözluçayir in Ovacik.
Civilians have been prohibited from entering the
areas that are targeted. Civilians in the areas have
been evacuated.
Damage to civilian properties have been reported on
the first day of the artillery barrage on October
17. Three Turkish leftist MKP-HKO (Marxist Leninist
Party - People's Liberation Army) guerrillas, one of
them female, have been reported killed in ongoing
military operations in the Dersim province.
Turkey still claims that there is no war in northern
Kurdistan (southeastern Turkey).
The stressful waiting in Eskişehir
ESKISEHIR Oct 18
(DIHA) - The stressful waiting before the second
session of 13 Bullets Trial, which was taken to
Eskişehir in case of security, is going on. MHP
management in Eskişehir, who took the responsibility
of the attack with shooting sticks and Stones at the
first session, is stil giving threatening
statements.
The second session of the trial which came to court
after 13 years old Uğur Kaymaz (by 13 bullets was
shooted) and his father were killed by security
forces during an operation in Kızıltepe of Mardin in
21 november 2004 and
was taken to Eskişehir in case of security will be
held in 24 october at Eskişehir Law Court. At the
session in 20 july , people who came to follow the
trial were attacked with shooting sticks and stones
by a group called "Ülkücü" and during this attack a
great number of people had several injuries. While
MHP management of Eskişehir , which took the
responsibility of the attack, lately giving
treatening speeches the stressful atmosphere in
Eskişehir before 24 october is going on. NGOs and
political parties in Eskişehir organized " the
commitee for following Uğur Kaymaz Trial" in order
to give their supports to the trial. The committee ,
which announced itself in 10 july and supported the
session in 20 july publicly, is still in Eskişehir
trying to organize a public interest toward the
trial.
