Baghdad - Dr.
Ibrahim Al Ja'fari, Prime Minister, has received the
Kurdish delegation, which has met with Mr. Abdul
Aziz Al Hakim for finding a solution for the crisis
of the dispute between the two heads; Talabani and
Al Ja'fari.
After the meeting, Dr. Al Ja'fari said that the
alliance between the two blocs would remain strong,
or even stronger then before. He pointed out that
the issue does not represent a permanent state.
"Both of us are one party. We have common dominators
that expended for a quarter of a century", he said.
He added, "This state would push us towards more
alliance and deep-rootedness. It is an opportunity
for clarifying many issues." The Prime Minister said
to Al Sabah that if what links the coalition to the
alliance has been strong, it shall grow stronger. He
confirmed that international parties desire to
invest this issue for igniting the situation, but we
shall definitely put it out.
Redha Jawad Taqei, official of the political bureau
of the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution,
said that Mr. Al Hakim's meeting with the Kurdish
delegation on Monday has decided to create a
specialized committee from the two slates to search
for a solution for the crisis, and agreed on meeting
the Prime Minister. He said that an atmosphere of
understanding and feeling the need of the two
parties to find the solution before the plebiscite
on the constitution has prevailed during the
deliberations.
On his behalf, Mahmoud Othman said, "The delegation
has discussed five major points with Al Hakim: The
means of applying article 58 of the State
Administration Code, which includes the problem of
Kirkuk, in specific, the necessity of consultation
between the Kurdish and Shiite blocs at taking any
decisions, and the issue of holding regular meeting
among the presidency council, the premiership and
the parliament for solving the problems." Othman
continued, "The delegation has also discussed the
issue of the necessity of autocracy in taking
decisions and that any taken decision should obtain
the approval of the two slates participating in the
government." He said, "As regards the fifth and
final point, it deals with handling the Arab Sunnis,
random detention that they are exposed to and the
necessity of stopping that." The coalition and
alliance have signed a work covenant between them in
March 2005.
