Ocalan makes a call of
sensibility to the government
Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan making his
ordinarily weekly interview with his attorneys
stated that the policies of the ruling Justice and
Development Party (AKP) on Kurd problem would drag
Turkey into disaster and said: "If democratic
sensibility improves, the Kurds' demands are
accepted and a peaceful environment for peace
develops, I can disarm the guerillas in 2 months."
Wednesday, Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan
talked to his attorneys Bekir Kaya, Aysel Tuğluk,
Inan Akmeşe and his sister Fatma Ocalan. Solicitor
Bekir Kaya reported that Ocalan's health problems
was going on and he had difficulty in breathing due
to the island conditions. Mr. Ocalan made a call of
sensibility to the government and said: "Turkey is
on a road split.
If the government does not democratizes, environment
for solution of Kurd Problem and peace is not
provided, it will drag Turkey into calamity. I have
been doing my best for a peaceful solution of Kurd
question. Henceforth, Kurds' responsibility is to
protect their liberties'' lawyers reported.
'Peace in Middle East is democratic confederacy'
"Especially since 1948 when the Israeli state was
founded, Arab people have suffered much. Now, the
US-backed some powers in the North are trying to
raise nationalism. I believe that the problems in
Middle East may be solved with democratic
confederacy and, I am trying to improve this" says
Ocalan.
Bekir Kaya expressed that Ocalan celebrated peoples
of Turkey and those in the Middle East reported
Ocalan directly: ''My existing responsibility has
ended and I purified PKK from violence. The
government has been misleading itself by thinking it
will terminate the Problem and guerilla with
gathered summits.
Neither Kurds nor guerillas finish in such a way. If
democratic sensibility improves, the Kurds' demands
are accepted and a peaceful environment for peace
develops, I can disarm the guerillas in 2 months.''
