may put Kurdistan Workers Party on terror list
ANKARA. Dec 7 (Interfax) - Russian Defense
Minister Sergei Ivanov said Moscow is considering
declaring the Kurdistan Workers Party to be a
terrorist organization at the request of Turkey.
"As far as I know, this issue is being discussed,"
Ivanov told journalists after negotiations with his
Turkish counterpart Vecdi Gonul in Ankara on
Tuesday.
"It is not the organization's name that matters.
What counts most are the people who plan, finance,
and are involved in terrorist activities," Ivanov
said, adding that this is his personal opinion.
