Kurdish- American community mourns the victims
of the latest terrorist bombing in Kurdistan
We, members of more than 5,000 strong
Kurdish-American community in North Texas, today
are mourning the death of over 100 people in a
vicious terrorist bombing in Hawler, the capital
of Kurdistan. The latest cowardly terrorist attack
that was carried out on February 1, 2004 was
committed by the same extremist rotten ideology
that perpetrated the crime of September 11, 2001
attacks against the greatest democratic country in
the world, America.
The terror bombings of Hawler has made huge hole
in the heart of Kurdistan. It has cost the Kurds
dearly. The Kurdish nation has lost some of her
best sons and daughters to this evil attack of mad
killers. Among those who were killed were senior
members of KDP and PUK, the two larges political
patriotic parties in Kurdistan. There were senior
government ministers, a deputy prime minister,
mayors, province administers, writers, poets,
policemen, and peshmergas among those who were
martyred. The victims represented the best of the
Kurdish society, as they were the hope of the
future of the democratic Kurdistan.
The 7 million Kurdish people in the Iraqi part
Kurdistan (representing 30% of Iraq’s population
and part of the greater 40 million Kurdish nation
in the Kurdistan which is divided up unjustly
among Iraq, Turkey, Iran, and Syria) are under a
threat from the enemies of democracy. Kurds were
the only community in “Iraq” to embrace America’s
liberation of that country. The spilled blood of
the February 1 massacre is the price the Kurds are
paying for supporting America, demanding a
democratic federal state, and opposing forces of
darkness such as Islamic extremists.
On this sad day as we mourn and appreciates the
sacrifices of Kurdistan’ martyrs, we ask the
American people to write to President Bush and
urge him not to abandon the Kurdish people, Kurds
are true friends of this great nation of America.
By supporting Kurdish demands for a true
democratic federal state, America will also be
serving its strategic interests. The only viable
Iraq would be an Iraq in which Kurds will have
their own state within a federal system. The areas
that were detached from Kurdistan by the defunct
criminal Saddam’s regime thru a policy of
“arabization” must be made part of Kurdistan
again, including the Kirkuk province, the very
heart of Kurdistan.
May God bless the souls of the latest martyrs of
Kurdistan Shame to the terrorist and their dark
criminal ideology of religious fanaticism Long
Live friendship between America and Kurdistan
Self-Determination for the Kurdish nation.
